Android Auto is developed by Google to make the road safer than it is now by giving you the control of GPS mapping/navigation, music playback, SMS, telephony, and web search on your car’s dashboard. Yes you heard it right, you can control all the above things from your dashboard but apart from the user interface you must be thinking that what is the use of all the things on car’s dashboard as it is same as using a built-in smartphone in the car but no, here is the catch you can operate Android auto by voice commands.
By voice commands, you can call someone while driving, you can select any location on google maps, you can surf the web, listen to music and you can also type any message or reply to anyone by voice command. It also accesses saved routes from your smartphone like home or work location so that you don’t have to manually type it.
Make sure you have “OK Google detection” and then “While Driving” enabled to use the Android Auto to its full potential.
It also works with third party applications like Whatsapp, Pandora, Skype, iHeart radio and music applications too like Saavn etc.
In short, it makes our car a smart car with access to almost the same as our smartphones.
